Fancy lipcolors you can use for avant garde looks, costume parties/events, or for just plain experimenting. If you don’t have these lipstick hues, you can follow some easy tips here on how to create them.

Sometimes you want to explore with fun colors, not just on your eyes, but on your lips, too, either for a photoshoot, or just a boring day at home. But what if you don’t have this kind of shade for a lipstick? Or any other shade that’s not pink/red/peach/nude/brown? And you don’t have the time, or money, or resources nearby to buy one?

Eyeshadows are always the savior. Like in this picture, you can use a shimmery bright blue eyeshadow and a black one (for the inner part of the lip). You can use any type of eyeshadow, like cream, powder, pencil or liquid.

First, apply a clear lipbalm on your puckers, so that your lips won’t dry from the other non-lip products.

Then smooth over a bit of foundation (along with applying foundation on the face) on the lips. This creates a sort of “black canvas,” and the redness of the lips won’t show.

Using a clean lip brush, apply your desired color/s of eyeshadow on the lips, and a deeper shade of the same color (or any other deeper color) for the inner part of the lips. You can also do other “designs” and put more different colors using different lip brushes.

Let dry for a minute or two, then apply a coat of clear lipgloss. It’s better if you use your fingers and apply the gloss by dabbing, so that the colors you put on won’t mix together and ruin your design.

You can also use cosmetic glitters or sequins for fun.

Of course, make sure you don’t wet your lips with your tongue, and swallow any of the non-lip products.
